Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter flying near a crowded California coastline suddenly began spiraling out of control, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Videos posted on social media show the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
